English Synopsis

The teenage sisters Karine (Bérénice Bejo) and Sonia Hamlet (Emilie Altmayer) live with their mother (Colette Nucci) in the outskirts of Paris. For the first time, they are allowed to go to a night-club in Paris, with their friend Thomas (Fabrice Centeno), who drives them there. However, the young man faints in the disco and is taken to hospital. The Hamlet sisters find themselves stranded in the big city, moneyless, in the middle of the night. They meet an Algerian man (Mouloud Tadjer) who, at first, frightens them, but whose help will prove precious.

Deux sœurs adolescentes, Karine (Bérénice Bejo) et Sonia Hamlet (Emilie Altmayer), vivent avec leur mère (Colette Nucci) dans la banlieue parisienne. Pour la première fois, il leur est permis d’aller en discothèque à Paris, avec leur ami Thomas (Fabrice Centeno), qui les y amène en voiture. Mais le jeune homme fait un malaise dans la boîte et est emmené à l’hôpital. Les sœurs Hamlet se retrouvent abandonnées dans Paris, sans un sou vaillant, au milieu de la nuit. Elles rencontrent un Algérien (Mouloud Tadjer) qui, au départ, leur fait peur, mais dont l’aide se révélera précieuse.
