After Marc Roux’s car has been stolen during a pause on the motorway, Roux and Disse find themselves lost in the middle of the countryside and on opposite sides of a river.
VINCENT DISSE: I’m going to help you cross.
MARC ROUX: How?
VINCENT DISSE: You throw your stuff over here and swim.
MARC ROUX: Are you bloody kidding me?
VINCENT DISSE: What harm could it do? You’re already wet. Just toss your stuff.
MARC ROUX: Are you crazy? I’m not going to swim in this, it’s disgusting. There could be snakes in there.
VINCENT DISSE: Then I’m going to go look for a ladder.
MARC ROUX: What?
VINCENT DISSE: A ladder. There’s got to be a farm just over that way. I’m going to go find a ladder. Or a little boat.
MARC ROUX: You’re going to Rome then you’re never going back to Rome, you disappear in the woods then you reappear, now you’re looking for ladders.
VINCENT DISSE: I think we can agree that we don’t travel the same way but we’re still going to the same place. I’m going to find a ladder so you can join me, like Romeo. Oh oh! Okay? You follow me?

Après que la voiture de Marc Roux a été volée lors d’une pause sur l’autoroute, Roux et Disse se retrouvent perdus au beau milieu de la campagne, sur les rives opposées d’une rivière.

VINCENT DISSE : Mais qu'est-ce que ça peut faire ? Vous êtes déjà trempé. Balancez vos affaires.
MARC ROUX : Mais ça va pas, non ? Je vais pas nager là-dedans, c'est tout dégueu. Si ça se trouve, il y a même des serpents.
VINCENT DISSE : Bon. Alors je vais essayer de trouver une échelle.
MARC ROUX : Quoi ?
VINCENT DISSE : Une échelle. Il y a bien une ferme par là. Je vais trouver une échelle. Ou une barque.
MARC ROUX : Vous allez à Rome, vous revenez plus à Rome, vous disparaissez dans les bois, vous réapparaissez là, vous cherchez des échelles.
VINCENT DISSE : Disons qu'on n'a pas la même façon de voyager mais qu'on va quand même au même endroit. Je vais trouver une échelle pour que vous veniez me rejoindre, comme Roméo. Oh oh ! D'accord ? Vous me suivez ?
